Protech’s 30 Years: Federal Certification Success

At a recent presentation by the National Council of Child Support Directors (NCCSD) Systems and Data Committee and the Office of Child Support Services (OCSS), a nationwide map was shared showing where states stand in their child support system modernization journeys. Each state is charting its own path—some are refactoring or replatforming, others are pursuing full system replacements, and many are taking hybrid approaches. No matter the strategy, the shared goal is clear: to replace outdated legacy systems with modern platforms that strengthen performance, compliance, and service delivery for families.
This map also recognized the progress states have made since 2008 in implementing and certifying new child support systems. Of the nine states celebrated—New Hampshire, Nevada, South Carolina, California, Delaware, New Jersey, Florida, Oregon, and Massachusetts—five were Protech Projects! Five of the nine! Sometimes we are so focused on the work itself that we forget to pause and reflect on the journey. This recognition offered us a joyful reminder—and what an unexpected and heartwarming highlight in our 30th anniversary year.
The presentation also highlighted key milestones in the federal certification of modernized child support systems:
- 2008 – California (Accenture)
- 2010 – New Jersey (Protech)
- 2013 – Florida (Deloitte)
- 2016 – Delaware (Protech with Conduent)
- 2019 – South Carolina (Protech with Conduent)
- 2019 – New Hampshire (Protech)
- 2019 – Oregon (Deloitte)
- 2022 – Massachusetts (Accenture)
- 2025 – Nevada (Protech)
We’re especially proud of our work in NH, NJ, SC, DE, and NV,
where we achieved certification with remarkably few findings—an achievement
that speaks to the quality and rigor of our collaborative work with these
states. Certification, for us, is so much more than a milestone; it’s the
assurance that a system meets rigorous federal and state requirements while
delivering the functionality needed to serve families efficiently and
effectively. Nothing matters more than that.
As we celebrate 30 years of service, this recognition feels like a sweet
celebration of our enduring mission. To our partners, colleagues, and the
families we serve: thank you. This unexpected anniversary gift renews our
commitment to ensuring that every child support system we touch is modern,
resilient, and built to support children and families for generations to come.
Here’s to 30 years—and to the road ahead.
