BIG NEWS: Nevada Earns Federal Certification Under New Standards

Big News From Nevada!
Huge congratulations to the Nevada Child Support Program for officially receiving federal certification under the new guidelines. This is an incredible achievement that reflects years of hard work, steady leadership, and a deep commitment to improving services for families across the state. The updated federal certification guidelines, which went into effect in 2017, raised the bar for system functionality, security, and overall program performance. During certification, Nevada received just ten findings—a remarkably low number given the complexity of the system—and each one was swiftly and thoughtfully addressed. It’s a testament to the team’s preparedness, responsiveness, and deep ownership of the work.
All of us at Protech are so proud to be NV’s partners in this journey. From the early days of system modernization through the complexity of federal review, this work has always been about more than meeting requirements. It’s been about doing things the right way—with care, collaboration, and a long view toward sustainability. We’ve especially admired the state’s focus on building internal capacity. As IV-D Director Kiersten Gallagher wrote: “Your approach—combining thorough instruction, hands-on job shadowing, and shared responsibilities—has ensured our IT staff feels equipped and confident. You’ve set the bar high for what a successful transition should look like.” And as former Director Cathy Kaplan shared: “What truly sets Protech apart is their leaderships accessibility and hands-on involvement. From top executives to team members, they are always just a phone call away, ready to step in an ensure success.”
We’re incredibly honored by those words—and just as proud to say the feeling is mutual. Working with the Nevada team has been a privilege, and their vision, grit, and partnership continue to inspire us. This is a proud moment—not just for Nevada, but for everyone working to modernize human services systems with care and integrity.
