Spreading Holiday Joy: PACSS Teams Come Together to Support Foster Children

The holiday season is a time for generosity, connection, and community. This year, the Protech PACSS (Palmetto Automated Child Support System) project team partnered with South Carolina’s PACSS staff to make the season a little brighter for local foster children by adopting families for Christmas.

Together, team members worked to identify needs, shop for gifts, and ensure that children in foster care felt remembered and supported during the holidays. What started as a simple idea quickly became a meaningful collaboration that reflected the heart of the PACSS program and the shared values of everyone involved.

Foster children often face uncertainty, especially during the holidays. By coming together, the PACSS teams were able to provide gifts, essentials, and a sense of care during a time that can be especially difficult for children in the system. The effort was about more than presents—it was about showing up and making a positive impact in the lives of families in our community.

This initiative also highlighted the strong partnership between Protech and South Carolina’s PACSS staff. While our day-to-day work focuses on building and supporting systems that serve families, moments like these remind us why that work matters. The PACSS program is ultimately about improving outcomes for children and families, and this holiday effort was a powerful example of that mission in action.

We are incredibly proud of the PACSS team members who volunteered their time, resources, and hearts to make this possible. Their generosity and teamwork embody the spirit of the season and the values that guide our work year-round.

To our partners at South Carolina PACSS, thank you for collaborating with us on this meaningful effort—and for the work you do every day to support children and families across the state. We look forward to continuing to make a difference together in the year ahead.
